It is with shock and disbelief that we, the family of Roger Douglas Gaudet, announce his sudden passing on Monday, December 28th. Born in Amherst, July 13, 1946 he was the eldest son of the late Luke and Inez Gaudet.
"Rog” will be deeply missed by his wife of 47 years, Marilyn; his son, Marc; daughter, Heather and son, Matthew. He is also survived by his two beautiful grandsons, Charlie and Joel, by his two brothers, Peter & Alan of Amherst and his sister, Carolyn in Ontario. Roger will also be missed by his loving dog, Dixie.
Roger lived a full life with his family always first in his mind. In the early years he travelled to support his family and 33 years ago decided to finally call Lower Sackville home. He worked in commercial finance (graduated in 1969 with a B.Comm. from St. Mary’s University) throughout his career when he finally retired from Scotiabank in February 2015 after 22 years as an executive in their Global Risk Management Department. Roger was well loved by his colleagues and friends, known for his jovial nature and infectious laugh.
Roger was a family man through and through. He would do anything for his family and friends and was loved by them all. His family was proud and lucky to have him in their life – a void that can never be filled. Rog was a coach, Beaver and Cub Scout leader when his children were younger. His family was also proud of Roger’s active involvement in his community as a Lion’s Club member of Lower Sackville.
There will be no funeral service. Roger will be cremated and the family may decide on a small celebration memorial with friends and family. While the family is adjusting to this sudden change they ask any notes be sent to: [email protected]
