Russ Amirault

AMIRAULT, Russell B.T. of Halifax, passed away September 6, 2011 suddenly at home. Born in Yarmouth, he was the son of the late Theodore and Theresa (Muise) Amirault. Russ retired in 2000 as a manufacturer’s agent in the automotive aftermarket industry. He was an avid private pilot and began flying in the 50’s. He was a member of the Halifax, Shearwater and Truro Flying Clubs. Russ was an active member of COPA & AOPA and well known far and wide in the aviation community and was a member of the NSSPCA. He shared a love with his wife Glenda for helping animals in need. Russ is survived by his wife, Glenda (Silver); twin daughters, Lynn of Minnesota and Karen (Lloyd Ferguson) of Halifax; sister, Evelyn Marney, New Brunswick and brother, Harold, New Hampshire. He was predeceased by brother, Louie. Memorial service will be held Saturday, September 10 at 2 pm in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Rev. Carson Baxter officiating.
