

Sandra (Renner) Durham, 74, of Prospect Bay, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 6, 2017 at the QEII hospital. Sandra “Sandy” was born in Halifax, the daughter of the late George “Lyle” Renner and the late Florence (Jubien) Renner. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Gary Durham and her two brothers, David and Paul Renner.
Sandy worked for many years as a registered nurse in both Halifax, where she also taught at MSVU, and Arlington, Virginia. She was an avid reader, a great listener and always had time for her family and friends.
She will be sadly missed by her three children, Lindsay Raymond (Craig) of Prospect Bay, Susan Durham (Donald Macdonald) of Halifax, and Christopher Durham (Nathalie) of Dieppe, NB. She cherished all of the time spent with her seven grandchildren: Joshua, Chase, Andrew, Nicholas, Ainsley, Allyson and Evan, who will all miss “Grandma” immensely. She will also be greatly missed by the family dog Chloe.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 11th at J.A. Snow Funeral Home 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. A service will be held on Tuesday, December 12th at St. Joseph's Church in Shad Bay at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the IWK would be appreciated.
