

Sean passed away on March 26, 2025 peacefully at the Halifax Infirmary at age 72 surrounded by family. He was a wonderful brother, uncle and friend.
Born January 27,1953 in Halifax, he was the son of the late George and Kathleen (Hoyne) Richardson. He grew up in South End Halifax, attending St. Francis Elementary and St .Patrick’s High School. He graduated from St. Mary’s University with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree. His SMU ring was a prized possession.
He had a life-long interest in cars, and especially enjoyed his Triumph Spitfires and was a member of the British Car Club. His interest in cars led to his career as automotive manager at Woolco. Later in life, he worked in Stores at Irving Shipyard, he retired from there. He collected coins and enjoyed a good flea market. He had a boat for many years and loved sailing in the Halifax Harbour. He enjoyed taking friends and family on local drives. His red truck always stopped at Eastern Passage Boardwalk and Point Pleasant Park.
He had a great pride in his Irish heritage and enjoyed learning new things on his computer.
He lived in his big house on Pleasant St, Dartmouth for forty years. He finally sold his house last year and moved into Fort Clarence Seniors Apartments. He loved his apartment and all the wonderful folks he met in the building.
Over the years he had some wonderful cats- Bootsie, Carmel, Pumpkin and Tigger. His latest family feline is Tigger.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff on 6.1 and 6.4 heart floor of the hospital, for their kindness and care, especially Dr. Sapp.
We will forever hold his memory close- sisters— Mary Ann Villeneuve (Gilles) of Quebec, Susan Brazel of Ireland, Kathleen Richardson-Prager (Sieg) of Cole Harbour and Patty Wright (Tim Eisan) of Timberlea. Nieces and Nephews- Dominique Villeneuve, Lance, Tristan and Jenna Richardson-Prager, Ella and Robbie Brazel, and Amanda Mills and several great nieces and nephews.

Donations can be made in his memory to Bide-Awhile Animal Shelter. Cremation has taken place, some ashes will be scattered at Point Pleasant Park and the rest will be placed at Gates of Heaven. A celebration of life will take place in the summer at The Old Triangle Pub.
