Sherri Susan Slate

For over 20 years, Sherrie has been in her element as a big sister and a mom to many co-workers and students alike, at Conference Servicing at Dalhousie University. Before her time at Dalhousie, you would find her with a friendly smile and infectious laugh at the World Trade and Convention Center for 15plus years.

Sherri’s love for baking was apparent with her excitement of new recipes, always tweaking and adjusting to perfection and nestled in the corner of the sofa with loads of pillows, a blanket, a beverage and a great book was a strong passion of hers.

Sherri has touched so many people’s lives. She will be remembered always and forever missed.

She is survived by her soulmate and husband of 37 years, Ernie; 2 sons, Alex and Nick, who were her pride and joy; dad, Gordon Jenkins; sister Karen (Michael) Rhyno; brothers Duane Rhyno, Willy (Lisa) Rhyno, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by mom, Lynnette Rhyno.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Social Club on Dalhousie Campus, 6299 South Street, Halifax, March 15, 2025 from 2-4pm
