Stanley (Stan) Frank Bahadur passed away at home on February 10, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Lahore, Pakistan on January 27, 1949, and in September of 1969 he came with his parents and brothers to proudly live as Christians in Canada. He was predeceased by his father Frank Jang Bahadur, his mother Esther (nee Sadiq), and his youngest brother Robert Stewart (Neelam).
He is survived by his beloved wife Pamela (nee Borne), his son Steven (Barbra) and grandsons Sebastien and Bazyl, his daughter Tanya and granddaughter Anisa, and his son David. He was very proud of his children and loved his grandchildren deeply. He is also survived by his younger brother Kenneth and sister-in-law Catherine Bowser-Bahadur, his sister-in-law Neelam and beloved nieces Deepali and Natalie (Jerry) and grand-nieces Sonali and Amira. Stan met his wife Pamela while members of the Central Baptist Church, now known as Sheffield Baptist Church in Halifax, NS. They married on September 22, 1973, and celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2023. He was well-loved in the South Asian community, carrying on his father Frank’s legacy of playing the Indian Tabla drums. For many years he could be seen and heard accompanying talented singers of traditional Indian music while they performed in various Halifax venues for multi-cultural events or playing on his living room floor surrounded by a captivated audience of family and friends. He shared his love of the drums with his son David, teaching him to carry on the tradition, and was happy that his grandchildren also shared a love of music.
Stan started in the Bridgewater area selling insurance but became well known in Halifax for spending 38 years in the car business. He owned a Jeep-Eagle dealership, sold Volvos and Suzukis, and finally retired from Metro Mitsubishi in 2013, giving him ample time to enjoy gardening and time with his grandchildren. He will be sorely missed.
