

As a young woman, she worked at her father’s grocery store, IPC, on Argyle Street. She was an avid bowler for many years, Captain of her team, and president of the Flowerettes. She was a talented pianist and accordion player, and enjoyed oil painting.
Survived by her loving daughter, Angela (Alan) Butt and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her loving husband, Thomas (Chummy) Jackson and her brother, Bill Yochoff.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, (455-0531) Funeral Service to take place on Saturday, June 21, at 10 am in Saint Theresa’s Church on North Street Halifax, Reverend Duncan MacMaster officiating. Cremation has taken place, private family burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s society of Nova Scotia or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
The family would like to thank the caring and compassionate staff of the QEII ER, especially nurses Kerry and Ruth, as well as Dr. Susan Ripley. Special thanks to Ethel Jack for her loving support of both Stena and Angela.
