

Steve was born in Grand Falls, NFLD, on September 13, 1970. He attended St. Anthony Elementary School, and graduated from Harriot Curtis Collegiate School in 1988. He received a diploma in Technical Education Electronics (Communication) from Central Newfoundland Community College, Gander. He was a cub scout; air cadet and his interests included fishing; weight lifting; poetry and song writing.
Steve attended ITI after watching the movie ‘The Net’ which inspired him to work with computers. His previous jobs included working for Frontec at many of the North Warning sites and had many great stories of the Great White North. Steve’s first and ultimately favourite job was at the Co-op in St. Anthony where he loved helping people. He was known for his dry sense of humor with which he often entertained his fellow workers. Steve was working at the Department of Health and Wellness in Halifax at the time of his passing.
Steve leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his partner Cathie Piercey, Ellershouse, NS.; his father , Kevin Christopher (Maisie), Canning; his brother, Terry (Beth) Christopher, Halifax, NS, and his sister, Lisa (Paul) Hedges, Edmonton, AB; and his very special niece and nephew, Kenna and Rowan; many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his mother Rita M. Willcott; as well as his grandparents, Reg and Lillian Willcott and Vincent and Mary Christopher.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 15, 7 p.m. at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, Lacewood Dr. Halifax, NS. - followed by a reception at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Arthritis Society or to a charity of your choice.
