

KEDDY, Dr. Stewart Randolph – 65, of Bedford, beloved husband of Pat (Chisholm) and father of Alex and Maeghan, passed away May 1st after a brief illness. Born in Kingston, he was the son of the late Randolph and Gladys Keddy. After graduating from the Nova Scotia Agricultural College (1967), McGill University (1969), and Dalhousie Dentistry (1974), where he was recognized for excellence in endodontics and radiology, Stewart practiced as a dentist for 37 years. He served in the Dental Corps from 1974-1979 and was a founding partner of the Purdy’s Wharf Dental Group from 1985 until his retirement in September, 2011. He held memberships in the Nova Scotia Dental Association, the Canadian Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. In his free time, he enjoyed country music, cards, good food, and red wine, of which he was a proud home-vintner. He was also an avid downhill skier, an enthusiastic CFL supporter, and enjoyed spending time canoeing and kayaking at his cottage on Molega Lake. He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Donna (Mrs. Wayne Shunamon), Kingston; Irving (Margaret), Kingston; Frieda (Mrs. Eldon Fitch), Kingston; Christine, Kingston; Cindy (Mrs. Stewart Burns), Tremont; several nieces and nephews, and predeceased by his brother Keith, Kingston. All are welcome to attend a reception at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax on Saturday, May 5th from 7-9pm to share memories. Private family interment to be held at a later date.
