Sungman was predeceased by his mother Jeomsun Park, and he is survived by his loving wife Nanhee Song and his father Simwon Kang, brother Sungjin Kang and sister Mina Kang.
He was born and raised in South Korea and moved to Halifax with his wife in 2010. They called Halifax as their second home land and Sungman loved this city and country.
He started to build his career as a chef at Sushi Nami after he relocated to Canada and worked for over 11 years. In July 2022, Sungman finally opened his own restaurant with Nanhee, Sushi Maru in Bedford, putting all their effort into achieving their dream.
For all these years, he was a member of the Korean Presbyterian Church of Nova Scotia and loved the Lord and church. He was a faithful man who belonged to God and a true follower. He always loved others more than himself and reached out to anyone who needed help.
Nanhee and Sungman met each other in 2003 and Sungman always adored and cherished Nanhee and provided her the best since then. He was a caring husband and a best friend and there was nothing more Nanhee could ask for.
His beautiful soul was taken to heaven too soon and too sudden and it is hard to bear for everyone who knew him. However we all believe, we will reunite in heaven, our eternal home and this belief will help us to overcome this sorrow.
Sungman, you will always stay in our heart till we meet again.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 6th, 2022, between 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at JA Snow Funeral Home. Memorial service will take place at 7:00pm on Tuesday August 9, also in J.A. Snow Funeral Home.
