It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Susan Conrad — known lovingly as Susan, Sue, Susie, and Sue Sue — on May 30, 2025, due to unexpected complications related to her diabetes. A cherished daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, Susan’s life was cut far too short. She leaves behind a legacy of fierce loyalty, quick wit, and a heart that never stopped giving.
Susan was a force — vibrant, bold, and unforgettable. Her boisterous laugh could fill a room, and her love for kids, babies, and fur babies was unmatched. If you needed anything, Susan would be the first to show up and the last to leave. That was just who she was. She was happiest at the hockey rink, cheering for her nephews with unmatched enthusiasm, always the loudest and proudest in the stands with a Tim Hortons tea in one hand and her bell in the other.
Professionally, Susan broke barriers as one of the first women to hold the role of Project Manager in Atlantic Canada’s commercial flooring industry, executing such projects as the original QEII Infirmary Hospital. She served as President of both the Atlantic Floor Covering Association and the National Floor Covering Association, earning admiration and respect throughout the country. She was a true icon in her field, and her loss will be deeply felt across the industry.
Earlier in her life, Susan ran a successful catering business and, more recently, worked as a trusted tax accountant. She took great pride in her work and valued the strong bonds she built with her Floors Plus team and the lifelong friendships formed through the industry she loved.
She had a competitive streak. Whether winning a poker tournament in St. Martins or buying into a 50/50 draw, she was always in it to win it. She had a soft spot for yellow roses, the color purple, the beach, and all things tropical.
Susan played a special role in raising Tracy, Daniel, and later Dominic and Jared — guiding them with love, laughter, and loyalty.
She is survived by her siblings Jack (Wendy), Patsy (Larry), Tommy (Alice), and Vicki (Mark). She was a proud and loving aunt to Tracy (Jordan), Daniel (Laura), Dominic, Jared, Jacquelyn (Melvin), and Stephanie, and a cherished great-aunt to Rylan, Addison, Chloe, Charlie, Carter, Enzo, Laurenn, and Reid. She is also fondly remembered by her good friend Steven.
She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Bill and Barb Conrad, whose values and humour shaped the special person she was. Susan was deeply loved by her siblings and shared especially close bonds with her sisters — Patsy, with whom she had a lifelong connection full of laughter and support, and Vicki, who stood by her side with loving and unwavering care.

All who knew and loved Susan are welcome to attend and honour a life lived with laughter, love, and purpose.
She was one of a kind — strong, loyal, and larger than life. We will miss her more than words can say and remember her always.
