Susan Mary Goold

Beloved sister to Shane (Maire), Oonagh (Bruce), Annmari (Jerry, d. 2024), and Frank (Carol). She was predeceased by her loving husband, John, and parents Frank and Raymonde. Susan died with her family at her bedside on November 16th, 2025.

Susan was born in Dublin, Ireland, August 2nd, 1947, and grew up in St. John's, Newfoundland. Having raised her family in Toronto, Ontario, she was an adventurous spirit, living in Ireland, England, Newfoundland, Toronto, and Costa Rica, eventually settling in Halifax with John to be close to their children and grandchildren.

Larger than life, Susan will be remembered as a matriarch of great character, whose patience, strength, resilience, unconditional love, acceptance and supportive guidance will be carried on by her clan for generations to come. Susan was full of stories that she loved retelling to those around her and was always up for a laugh about her own misadventures. Susan was a woman of progress, always keeping up with the times, immersing herself in the latest gadgets and technology, keeping up with memes and was crowned “Gangsta Granny” by her loving grandchildren for some of her adventures.

Her funeral will be on Tuesday November 25, 2025 at 10am at J. A. Snow Funeral Home. Susan’s Celebration of Life will be held on her birthday, August 2nd, 2026 in St. John's, Newfoundland, details to be announced. Susan had a strong passion for animals, especially rescues, her whole life. In lieu of flowers, her children ask that donations be made to the SPCA.
