Born on September 14, 1958 in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Edith (“Sis” Bochoff) and Kenneth Schnare.
She is survived by her husband Kevin Stone, son Michael (Vanessa) and her extended family James Stone (Trish) Ariel; Allison Stone (Travis) Mel; Cousin Janice Landry and best friend of 50 years Valerie (Swinimer) Crawley.
Theresa worked for 35 plus years for DSS/PWGSC as a Marine Procurement Agent. She enjoyed her work and her work family, working on such projects as Swiss Air. She would go above and beyond to ensure these projects got her undivided attention.
Theresa enjoyed many types of crafting, making everything from handmade cards to clothing for all occasions. She was generous, kind and caring and was always helpful, doing for others whenever she could.
Theresa enjoyed travel, especially going on Caribbean Cruises with her travel buddies and spending vacations at her home away from home with Debbie and Mike Rehberg of Port Credit, Ontario.
Bowling was more than a sport for Theresa. She was competitive but it was more about the people than the score. She bowled for 50 years in many leagues including her last league St Mary’s. She traveled with her team the “Alley Cats”. She was the past President of the Nova Scotia Ladies Provincial Tournament. But what gave her the most joy was “her kids” of the Youth Bowling League in Spryfield. Every Saturday morning, regardless of how the week went healthwise, she was up and ready to go with a smile to be with these youth bowlers that gave her “purpose”, sharing her love of the sport.
Words cannot express the amount she adored her son Michael and how extremely proud of the man he has become.
Unfortunately, Theresa was plagued with numerous life threatening illnesses that she overcame showing her extreme strength and resilience. Always with words of encouragement and advice, was her biggest supporter, cousin Janice whom she deeply loved and shared a special bond with, both being only children. People joked that had as many lives as the cats she had as pets. Sadly she has been taken from us far too soon and will be dearly missed.
Please know that she cherished all of her friends dearly and her family appreciates everyone that has reached out directly with support or has left comments on Facebook.
Thank you ALL
