

Tom spent much of his youth in PEI, New Glasgow and Sydney where his father was transferred due to his work. He attended Xavier Jr College in Sydney. Returning to Halifax he worked at CBC and CTV. He owned and operated Cal Film production with offices in Halifax, Moncton and Charlottetown. Tom was the owner of many franchises including, Tim Hortons, Pizza Hut and Wendy’s. He was an avid boater and former member of the Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron and the Dartmouth Yacht Club. Tom spent many hours with family and friends cruising the waters of Nova Scotia, PEI, as well as many trips to Florida and the Bahamas.
Tom is survived by his wife, Kathleen Kenny Cahill; children, Scott (Andrea) Cahill, Susan (Corry) Collins, Lynn (John) Reilly, Christi Cahill (Paul Sarty), 13 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Frank and Nora Cahill and sister Dr. Joan Cahill.
Special thanks to the Dialysis team and all the doctors who attended to Tom over the years. A very special thank you to Halifax Hospice where he spent his final days in comfort and peace. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
