SAUNDERS, Thomas George, 59, of Halifax. It is heavy hearts that we announce his sudden passing on November 23 at the QEII. Born in Halifax, he was the son of Randall and Ethel (Banfield) Saunders. He was employed with Nova Scotia Community College. Prior to that, he worked for many years with Nova Scotia Power Inc. His pastime was spent helping out with minor hockey where he spent countless hours. His proudest moments were spent with his son. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Kathy (Campbell) Saunders; son, Thomas Saunders; sisters, Debbie (Brian) Jones, and Ethel Saunders; many sister/brother-in-laws and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Randall. No visitation as per Tom’s wishes. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Friday, November 28 at 10:00 am at Cathedral Church of All Saints, 1330 Martello St., Halifax. Bishop Ron Cutler officiating. Family flowers only. Donations in Tom’s memory may be made to Halifax Hawks Minor Hockey Association.
