Tregunno, Timothy Warren - 55, of Halifax, Nova Scotia passed away peacefully at home Saturday, February 25 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Halifax, Tim was an influential man who touched the lives of many. He attended the University of New Brunswick where he met his wife Nancy and graduated with a Business of Administration Degree. With over 30 years of leadership as owner and operator of the Halifax Seed Company, Tim led his team through many great successes and created a true family atmosphere as he viewed the staff as the "work" family. Son of Warren and Joan (Fraser) Tregunno, Tim was known nationally for his work as president of the Canadian Seed Trade Association. During his term, Tim was a successful intervener on a Supreme Court of Canada case on Intellectual Property Protection. Also president of the Nova Scotia Chapter of the Canadian Association of Family Enterprises, Tim guided the organization through the formative years and helped develop the sound foundation that CAFE NS has built upon over the years. Other organizations that Tim was involved in include: Maskwa Aquatic Club Steering Committee and Paddling Director, Canadian Power and Sail Squadron member and instructor, soccer coach, Landscape Nova Scotia, and the H.M.H advanced ski team. Regardless of the organization that he has been involved in it is the friendships he developed that meant the most. A family man, Tim adored his daughters Emily (Fraser Moir) and Alison (Mitch Gallant) and wife Nancy (Barclay). Tim spent his time at camp, the farm and on the water sailing. He enjoyed the land and being outside canoeing, hunting, fishing, hiking, skiing and running. Pulling pranks and challenging the kids to burger cook-offs was what he was known for. Memories were made on many trips with friends and no one will forget all those March Break ski trips. Many walks were taken with his two favourite dogs Benson and Rookie. His true passions were family, seeds and sailing. Tim was loved by all who were fortunate enough to have met him. He was passionate about life and took advantage of times surrounded by the people he loved the most. To sum it all up Tim was an awesome man and will always be at the helm in our hearts. A special thank you to an amazing medical team; doctors, nurses and VON. Thank you to friends, family and staff for friendship, support, laughs and hard work. Survived by his wife Nancy (Barclay), daughters Emily (Fraser Moir) and Alison (Mitch Gallant), parents Warren and Joan (Fraser) and sisters Faith (Gordon Balcombe) and Lesley. Tim was an uncle to Matthew and Jillian, Megan and Brett, Andrew and David. Tim is also survived by the 28 members of the Great 17. Arrangements entrusted to J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax (902) 455-0531.
