Trevor Mason Murphy (Murph), age 41 passed away at home suddenly on Tuesday, January 1st 2019. He was born in New Glasgow on January 26th, 1977 to his loving parents Jamie and Kiltie (Mason) Murphy whom he had a special bond with. He is also survived by his older brother Dwayne (Shalyn) children: Seth & Olivia, his in laws who were more like a second family to him; Greg McNeil, Regina McNeil, Melissa Morrisette (McNeil) and Mal and Al McNeil along with many nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by many more family members and countless friends. Trevor was a proud business owner and entrepreneur. He ventured into the restaurant business at the young age of 23 and with a strong work ethic instilled in him he ran two successful businesses, Plaza Pizza and the Thistle Bar & Grill, a place where many friends were made and old friends would come together. But nothing was more important to him than family. He was a devoted and loving father to sons Mason and Madden. He is also survived by his loving wife Erin, his childhood sweetheart since the age of 14. His soulmate and true partner in life. At the end of the day there was nothing he loved more than watching his two boys out on the ice, whether it was in the backyard or at the local hockey rink, that was truly his happy place in life. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Trevor's life at JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive on Monday, January 7th between 2:00 pm-4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family and will be put in a trust for Mason and Madden.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Trevor's passing. We played hockey together at King's, and he made me laugh daily. He was an honest, loyal and absolutely hilarious person. I cannot think of a road trip or game where his good-natured ribbing or off-the-cuff remarks didn't bring the whole team to tears. I hope there is some comfort in knowing he left an indelible mark on our lives.

We are heartbroken for this amazing family. Trevor always had a smile and was so kind and down to earth.

My favourite memory of Trevor is trying to get to the truck with all the boys stuff before Madden figures out how to get it in drive.... Madden with a big smile on his face always started that truck up with Mason beside him... every chance he got....Trevor running to the truck smiling and getting everyone on the go to the next destination....all with a smile.

Erin is one strong Mama and Mason and Madden are so lucky she’s their Mom. ❤️

Sending so much love your way

To Jamie&Kiltie and all the family:
As with everyone this is really a shock and tragic news. This is not the way the 'order of life' is meant to be and words seem so inadequate to express one's feelings at a time like this for you and the family.Hopefully ,you will find comfort knowing that others are sharing in your sorrow and send along our heartfelt sympathy and condolences.

My Deepest Condolences Jamie, Kiltie, Dwayne, Erin & Family. My heart is broken for your loss. I have the greatest memories of time I shared with Trevor, the laughs on and off the ice, at the shop downtown, all of them... Trevor reached out to me and welcomed me here when I moved to Trenton as a young lad, he befriended me and I am forever grateful to him. God Bless you Trevor.

My husband and I wish to express our deepest sympathies to the Trevor's family both in business and at home. Such a sad loss. My husband and I were regular visitors to the Thistle, spent many date nights there. We always looked forward to seeing Trevor's smiling face, and he always took time to chat with us. He was an incredible person, we will greatly miss him! Heartbreaking.
