

Born in Virden Manitoba on December 27,1946. He was the son of Angus and Florence Spence.
The covered wagon started its journey from Virden through the many one room schoolhouses in Southern Manitoba and Saskatchewan. The wagon's occupants increased to 5 children and parents along the way. Finally reaching the thriving metropolis of Calgary, Alberta in 1952. The homestead continued to grow reaching a total of 7 children and various friends who came to visit and decided to stay.
Trevor's adventurous nature took him to Southern California, returning to Vancouver then on to Nova Scotia in 1970 where he married Janet MacDonald in 1984 and the wonderful adventures continued.
Trevor worked in the Building Operations Department QE 2 spending 25 years, mainly at the VGH Site. He retired in 2004.
Survived by-wife Janet, daughter Kathleen Ann Douglas (Murray), grandchildren James and Eilidh, siblings Sandra (Douglas) Smith, Rose (John) Anderson, Debbie Hinch, Tylynn (Dawn) Spence, Todd Spence. Predeceased by his parents Angus and Florence Spence, brother Trent Spence, brother-in-law Peter Hinch.
The family wishes to thank the Nova Scotia Cancer Team, Palliative Care Staff and all those who provided care and support over the past months.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be held on Saturday November 8, 2025 from 6-8pm at J.A. Snows Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr. Halifax. Funeral Service will be held on Sunday November 9 at 2:00 pm at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr. Halifax. Reverend Kevin Little officiating. The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home website.
