Our families were very close when I was younger and I will always remember the " twins" and the fun I had teasing them. My condolences to Kitti and all the family.

Dear Kitti,  Alex, Erika, Ian and family, my heartfelt condolences go out to you all. Your mother, sister, grandmother, auntie and friend was a very interesting, strong and no nonsense person. We met through the IWK where we both volunteered. You always knew when Vicki was in the room, her personality and presence were uncontainable, flowing over, filling the space with her unique voice, laughter and ideas.  She stopped me many times in those corridors, no perfunctory remarks from Vicki but real, sincere questions about how I was doing and what was I up to.
She was a character, a rascal, funny and charming. Years ago an older  friend told me that the twins mother Ruth would push her beautiful babies in their carriage around Halifax so proud and sure that they were her gift to the world. We will truly miss one of those gifts so much.

Your memorial at St. Andrews was  loving and beautiful. I shall not forget it.

Kitti,we have been thinking about Vicki and you and the whole family since she died last week and can't believe we knew her for only 3 years.  We feel like we have known her for much much longer.  We'll miss her visits with their inspiring conversations and wicked good humor about life and love.  Much love and God bless you all.

Vicki will be miss by all her friends in the Sunshine Room.  She was such a wonderful person and will be miss by all.

I was saddened to hear of your mother/sister's untimely passing but I gather from the obituary that she gave a good fight for life. Growing up in the South End I heard of the Murray twins but had no idea that years later I would meet her and the then family as the first clinic nurse to your father at the IWK. I had the pleasure of meeting your mom often when visiting the IWK Gift Horse and she always guided me to purchases which I still have to this day. 
I also had the please to bring wild rose bushes to your home off Young Avenue for a hedge. Your mother always went our of her way if we met out side of the hospital to engage in conversation even if she had things schedule. I know you will miss her and the void cannot be filled but as time goes on the happy times take over and the emptiness will be come smaller.
My sincerest sympathy is with you at this sad time.

Dear Alex, Erica & Ian, I am so very saddened by the loss is your dear Mother.  To say that she adored you is an understatement.  She was so good to Gary and me and our kids, Krista, Nicholas and Gordon.  Always positive and full of energy she was invaluable in helping me negotiate the inevitable ups and downs of having school age children, husbands in residency programs and dogs. I have known your family for many years as your Aunts and Uncle and Grandparents all went to St. Matthews Church and Bonnie taught me in 3rd Grade at Gorsebrook the year she was married.   I loved your Mom very much and always adored her zest for life and huge heart and infectious laugh. We have thought about you all so many times over the years.  I am so sorry it had to be such a sorrowful occasion to connect us today. Thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Sometime between 1972-1976 Vicki Murray and I were teaching at the same school in Montreal. I remember her as a friendly and outspoken person who I thought had this wonderful sexy and  husky voice. After 1976 we both left that school and did not see each other anymore. Years later in 1990 I am watching a performance in the Halifax Grammar School and hear this familiar husky voice behind me. To my surprise it was Vicki again. In the next hour we summarized the last 15 years of our lives to each other. Another coincidental meeting occurred 5 years later. I hear that same beautiful husky voice in the parking garage of the Laurier Hotel in Ottawa. She was visiting her sister over Christmas.

I was quite shocked to hear from a mutual friend who attended the funeral on Saturday that Vicki had passed away. I am sending Vicki's children and her sister my sincere condolences and I wish them lots of strength in the coming months.

Truer words were never spoken.....couldn't have been stated any more clearly at yesterday's service.   It was beautiful in every detail; every member of the family was doing and giving all they had for their Mother, their Aunt, Sister and friend.....as it has been for all of the these years.  Ian, Antonio and I were so deeply moved by your beautiful voice it will remain with us for all time!  Erica you were beautiful and spoke so well as did you, Alex, and Adrian So many memories, I really don't know how Vicki has been able to continue to share her spirit with all of us, and I know it has to be with all of us, as she has been here, in my home so often since her passing.......another tribute to a dear cousin, who was always able to "pick up her mat and move on" with style, with courage and with sharing.   We have all learned, once again, a great deal about how to live and and how to die.   Mom (Shirley Henricks, who could not come along yesterday as much as she wanted to), Antonio and I send our love and deepest compassion for all your family is dealing with now, and the wonder of the memories that will come back to all of us as days and years go by.   It is the  Scottish blood we all share, the Bruce and the Murray...no matter where we go or what we do with our lives, we shall always remember the strength of will and caring Vicki, and our fore bearers, have passed on to us all!   We have been blessed and we will never forget!

Vicki, Gail Woodbury and I shared an apatrment in Montreal while Vicki was doing her Master's.  We had a tremendous amount of fun together.  I will always remember Vicki's laugh and awesome humour.

Her heart was huge...sharing w whomever, whatever...herself or her roses.  On her 60th birthday, her home resembled a hothouse....a massive array of roses were on display.  She presented me w a bouquet of them to take home simply because it was also my birthday.  She will be missed.  Another angel has her wings...my condolences.

When I was a 'regular' at the chemo unit I met Vicki. She had this mischevious grin on  her face. She looked straight at me and said 'Can you swim ?' And that is how I found out about the Bosom Buddies of Nova Scotia. It has been great group therapy. Dear Kitti, Alex, Erika, Ian and family,

I am sadden by Vicki's death and have been remembering her with love these past few days.  She was a bright light in this world and will be missed.  Her thoughtfulness and her positivity were an inspiration to me over the years.  Our days at the Grammar School and after, particularly when my son Christopher was born will remain in my thoughts.  Her sweet kindness in gathering lovely tiny clothes for my new born was special.  Truly, Vicki was a beautiful person both inside and out.  My heart goes out to all of you and know that her spirit will be with you to give you comfort. Much love.

We are truly sorry to hear of Vicki's death but glad her struggles are over. She was an amazing and courageous person who faced her battle head on and fought it to the end.  We know her family was everything to her and that love was evident whenever she spoke of you. We only met on the street but our chats were memorable for their laughs and commisarations. We still consult the book bought on Vicki's advice for our dog, Coco. She was certain we could curb her behaviour as well as my husband's.

Our sincere regards to all of you. We shall certainly miss her.

I hadn't seen Vicky in about 40 years until 2005 when, happily, we reconnected at a reunion. I recall when we were kids, Vicky, Kitty and I often picked raspberries in the bushes between our homes--we were close companions. I met Vicki when Alex and our daughter, Caitlin, attended pre-school together.  Then, for a number of years, I worked closely with her as a volunteer on Kermesse.  I loved her candour, her sense of humour, her energy.  She often said what many of us thought but didn't dare to say.  She brought zest and fun and spark to any place where she was.  I lost touch with Vicki as our children grew older and I returned to work but I remember fondly and with a smile the time we spent together.

We were heartbroken to hear about Vicki's passing.  Vicki touched many people, and was a significant part of our life during our years in Halifax.  Although distance later separated us, she remained close to our hearts.  Vicki was a strong, positive, and generous individual, and we feel fortunate to have had her as a friend. To Vicki's family I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Vicki through her volunteer work at the IWK but she impacted my life in a great way on one particular day in 2000. I had just lost my partner through a sudden tragic death. She saw me on my day back to work and said " you need a dog". She put me in her car and drove me to Amherst to pick out a puppy. That puppy saved me on many days through a very dark time. I will always be thankful that she was there for me that day. She was a live spirit and will be missed by many. So sorry.
