Vi was born on June 6, 1934, in Montreal, Quebec to David and Joyce Riley. She met and married James (Jim) Edward Quigley in 1958. Jim’s career led them to move to Winnipeg in 1972 and then to Halifax in 1977. They had a wonderful marriage that lasted for 54 years until Jim’s passing in 2012. Vi was able to continue a very fulfilling life after Jim’s passing which included volunteering at the Stork Shop IWK for almost 40 years. Her multiple bridge groups she attended weekly to see many of her friends. Her passion for golfing at Ashburn new and old course, which she was an active member for over 48 Years. Vi found a lovely apartment at Green Park Close in which she appreciated the people in the building and of course the ability to watch the nightly sunsets. Her other passion was her trips to the Valley, whether traveling with family for the annual strawberry, apple picking, or Halls Harbour viewing or her many solo trips for shopping. Vi often mentioned it was one of her favorite places to visit.
She is survived by her children, J. Derek Quigley (Melissa Brenton), Dawn Vienneau (Bruce) and Diane MacPhail and her many grandchildren that she loved dearly Katelynn, Katie, Cara (Bryan), Kavan, Cameron, Kristina (Simon), Carson, Aaron and Zahra. There is also a great grandchild expected shortly that Vi was very excited about. Sisters Audrey Szanter (Pointe Clair, QC) and Dorothy Lilly (Riverview, NB) and Sister-in law Sandy Riley (Hamilton, ON). She loved her very dear friends Pat Marr and Patt Criddle who were part of the infamous four musketeers.
