FETTERLY, Warren Ellis

Age 95, of Halifax, passed away in his sleep on November 4, 2018, at Camp Hill Veterans Memorial Hospital, Halifax. Born in Montreal in 1923, he was the son of S.T.E. Fetterly and Mildred [DeNyse] Fetterly. He was educated in Halifax Schools and attended Dalhousie University. He served his country during World War II and was commissioned in 1942 at the age of nineteen. After the war, he joined the family business of S.T.E. Fetterly & Son Ltd., retiring as Vice President.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Carmita, his step-daughters Joan Davidson Atkinson [Brooks] and Anne Tipler [Grant] and grandchildren Andrew Conrad [Yen], Daniel Conrod [Katrina], Meredith Conrod [Mark LeDain], Allison Tipler, and Kelly Tipler, and his brother, Thomas [Joan], plus many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Eileen [Murray], and his brother Allan, and his sister Jeanne [Gandy].

He was an avid golfer, a member of Ashburn Golf Club and Chester Golf Club. He had a hole-in-one in 1985. He was also a former member of the Halifax Curling Club, the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron and the Halifax Commercial Club. He was a Life Member of the American Waterworks Association.

Cremation has taken place by J.A. Snow Funeral Home. At his request, there will be no visitation. A family graveside ceremony will take place at a later date, with the burial at St. John's Cemetery in Halifax.

To Carmie & family

My condolences & very sorry to lose a close friend from Parkland as we shared lots of social time. Saw him just 2 days earlier in Camp Hill vets Memorial hospital & he seemed comfortable & happy so was surprised on hearing of his death. We will miss sharing our enjoyable times together.

Dear Carm and Family,
Very sorry to learn today of Warren's passing. This is a shock to us since he seemed to be doing well when we saw him earlier this year. He was a warm, kind and generous person whenever we saw him.
