

Warren Howard Tobey, age 69, of Halifax passed away peacefully on August 16, at the V.G with his wife Janet by his side. Born in Bedford September 26, 1947, he is survived by his devoted and caring wife Janet (MacDonald), cherished mother Jean Tobey of Bedford; loving daughters Ellen Damron (Rodney) of Kirkland, Washington, Kelly Tobey (Jim Lucas) of San Diego and precious granddaughter, Olivia Grace, who brought him such joy. They were able to spend a week of quality time with their dad and say good-bye before he passed. Warren is also survived by his brother Dalton (Shirley), nephew Robin and niece Shannon. He is predeceased by his father Arnold.
Warren worked in construction supervising projects across Nova Scotia and Ontario. He spent 20 years working for Dillon Consulting and more recently with CBCL Halifax. After retirement he loved to work during the summer and did so up to 5 days before debilitating effects of a brain tumor took over. He was a Mason and a Shriner and a past member of Bedford Basin Yacht Club where he loved to sail and race and win! Honorary member of Halifax Area Model Yacht Club enjoying the comradery with the fellow sailors. He loved wintering in Florida with Janet enjoying the company of other Snowbirds, sailing his miniature Soling with the Sarasota Club and also with the guys in Clearwater. He will be dearly missed for his humor and fun loving nature.

Visitation and Celebration of Life will take place at J.A. Snow’s Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 with visitation from 1-3 pm with service to follow immediately thereafter.
