

With heavy hearts and loving memories the family announces the passing of William "Bill" Ferguson, age 62, of Halifax on Monday, December 4, 2017. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late William and Alma Ferguson.
Graduated in 1975 from NSIT with a Mechanical Engineering Diploma. He continued with his education with a Diploma in Engineering from St. Mary's University (1982); Bachelor in Science from the University of Waterloo (1990); a Teaching Degree from Nova Scotia Teachers College (1995). He worked for Defense Research Canada (DREO, DREA, and DRES). He had his own successful consulting business which led to work with the Swiss Air III and Air India 182 investigations. He taught at the Nova Scotia Institute of Technology teaching Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic Engineering Courses. He volunteered with Skills Canada at the national and provincial level. He also volunteered with the Winnipeg Aviation Museum.
Survived by his wife of 41 years, Linda Ferguson (Munroe); daughters, Stephanie (George) Schnare, Ottawa; Jennifer Ferguson (Terry McNally), Halifax; Allison (Jeff) Roach, Dartmouth; grandchildren, Brianna, Kayleigh, Madelyn and Elliot; sisters, Norma Ferguson, Linda Newman, and Elizabeth (Kevin) Newell, Halifax; brother, Rick Ferguson, Halifax. Predeceased by sister-in-law, Cindy.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 8th between 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, where a Memorial Service will also be held Saturday, December 9th at 2 pm; Reverend Jim Anderson officiating.
In lieu of flowers Donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or Pancreatic Cancer Canada.
