William Edward Richard Newbury

Age 78 of Timberlea. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved family member after a short but valiant battle with cancer. Born in Halifax to Sidney and Margaret (Morash) Newbury.

Bill will be sadly missed by his wife of 60 years, Carol (Lapierre); his daughters, Lillian, Halifax, and Cheryl (Pat Walsh), Timberlea. Bill was a devoted grandfather to Samantha (Loren) Little, Terence Bay, Justin, Myles, and Matt, all of Timberlea, and Brittany, Halifax. He will be especially missed by his great-granddaughter, Gabriella “his little Peanut” who brought such joy into his life. He will also be greatly missed by his first great-grandchild, “Doozer”.

Bill worked as an electrician most of his life, ending with his own company, Dawn Electric. He loved hunting, fishing, playing golf and cards. Bill belonged to the Mutual Benefit Society for 48 years. Through these activities, he gained many friends, too many to mention.

At his request, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service. Donations in Bill’s memory may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
