William Herbert Power

Born in Halifax, he was the son of Joseph and Theresa (White) Power.

He was employed for many years as a Professional Firefighter in Halifax. He was active with St. Agnes Church as a volunteer, usher, Eucharistic Minister, as well as serving the Priest as needed.

He enjoyed all sports and played all of them, he had an affinity for the outdoors and excelled in all things such as hunting, fishing, baseball and hockey. He was a big fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Survived by his wife of 43 years, Cecilia May (Richardson) Power; 4 sisters; brothers, Joe (Margaret), Prospect; Dave (Fran), PEI; Gerald, New Brunswick. A special brother and friend, Alfredo Abdo (Darlene and Preston) and many nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to Hilda Bleakney, MaryAnne Harfield, Ceily and Brian Archibald. Nephews, Robert and Peter Thomson, thank you for your many visits with Uncle Bill.

Predeceased by daughter Tara; brother, Michael; sister, Betty Ann.

Funeral Service to be held Friday August 12, 2016 at 10:00 am at St. Agnes Church, 6903 Mumford Road, Halifax, Rev Paul Morris officiating, reception to follow. Private interment.
