Bill was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who was passionate about his family, coffee and the New York Yankees.
Bill worked for the Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation for 46 years. He started as a casual employee at the Halifax Shopping Centre location, before taking the role of Internal Auditor within the Auditing department at the NSLC Head Office. He then moved on to become a System Support Analyst within the IT department. He retired from his career at the NSLC in 2019, working as part of the Service Excellence Centre.
Bill loved yearly trips to Portland, Maine with his wife and family, walking his cairn terrier Willie, and relaxing at the Sperdakes family cottage in Boutilier’s Point.
Bill is survived by his wife of 50 years Sue. His daughter Sarah, son Justin, and daughter Angelica(Arthur). Grandchildren Malykai, Austin and Sloane. Also his brother John Sperdakes, and many extended family members
He is predeceased by his father Peter, his mother Toula and his son Peter Sperdakes.
His strong work ethic, dedication, and unwavering commitment were a true testament to his character. He took great pride in caring for the people he loved and in everything he did. His kindness, strength, and genuine spirit touched the lives of all who knew him. His memory will live on within his wife, children, grandchildren and brother.
To say he will be missed is an understatement. The absence he leaves will forever be felt in our hearts and all who knew him. He was taken from us far too soon. Bill fought until the very end, and his perseverance and strength was unlike no other. He made sure to tell his family he loved them every single day. Often having hour long phone calls, just to check in with his children and see how they were doing.
Bill loved Sue beyond measure, she was the love of his life and he made sure that she always knew that. From making sure she had her morning coffee to staying by her side during times of hardship. They were inseparable.
