

Donna Joy McGee took possession of her heavenly mansion on February 23rd, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was the second child of four born to Jimmy and Lottie (Rogers) Babbitt on June 1, 1954. Her parents preceded her in death. She professed Jesus as her Savior and was of Baptist denomination. She was a graduate of Hamilton High School.
Donna was married to her “one and only” Jerry McGee for 45 years and is blessed with two children. Prior to her retirement she was owner/operator of Hamilton Medical Supply which complimented her kind desire for helping those in need. She enjoyed getting together with her family and reunions where she was sure to have fun games and prizes planned for everyone. Her laugh and smile were contagious. She enjoyed being outdoors whether it was gardening, swimming or a motorcycle trip with her siblings. She liked cooking holiday meals for her family, was a faithful dog owner and liked helping in the community with involvement in local causes and charities. Almost equal to her devotion for her husband was her love for her grandchildren, each one having a very unique kind of relationship which she cherished.
Survivors include her husband Jerry McGee of Hamilton; two children Bryan McGee and significant friend Misty Cole of College Station, Stacie Craig and husband Frank of Cheyenne, Wyoming; three brothers: Jimmy Babbitt and wife Katherine of Sequin, Gary Babbitt and wife Jody of Bullard, Dennis Babbitt and wife Karen of Crawford; grand children Hunter, Brittany, Cutter, Kenneth, Rachael, Brandon, Keegan, Mallory and Colleen; numerous nieces and nephews. To those who morn remember “He will swallow up death forever, and the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces;” Isaiah 25:8
A celebration of her life with be held on March 12th at 3:00PM at the Calvary Baptist Church in Hamilton, Texas. In lieu of flowers the family has designated a charitable account at Mills County State Bank that will be used to assist those in need in the community.
