Jill Barnet Caldwell was born on December 8, 1949 in Thornton, Texas to William Jack Barnett and Laurane Barnett. She attended Thornton Elementary School and graduated from Groesbeck High School. She received her Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Baylor University. She became a Christian in 1969 at the Thornton Methodist Church.
She married James (Butch) Caldwell on January 26, 1974 and lived in Killeen, Texas and El Paso, Texas while Butch finished his tour in the U.S. Army. They moved to Evant in 1975 where she was a devoted wife, mother and helpmate on the Caldwell 2J Ranch. She was active in several local churches where she worked with children.
Jill is survived by her husband of 50 plus years; her son Rick Caldwell and wife Erin, grandchildren Makayla and Kyle of League City, Texas; son Jack Caldwell and wife Sierra, grandchildren Ruby and Rose of Evant, Texas; Brother Jack Weaver Barnett of Thornton, Texas. She is also survived by special friends Kathy and Ed Kilgore of Lewisville, Texas and special friend and caregiver Janet Bland of Evant.

A memorial service for Jill will be held Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel.
