John Franklin Sprague, age 30, passed away on February 15, 2026 in Lubbock, Texas. John was born on September 28, 1995 in Longview, Texas. John was the oldest of three brothers. He graduated from Olney High School in 2014 and then proceeded to attend West Texas A&M earning a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business and Economics in 2018.
John loved his family and his friends. He loved clear nights in North Texas and cold opening mornings. He loved to ride in the truck with his brothers and bass fish with his father. He loved talking on the phone with his mother when he felt homesick, and loved feeling at home in her presence. He seemed to love old trucks that never ran just right, but I think he just loved a challenge. He loved to compete and work hard. Very hard. John loved Jesus Christ and felt closest to him in the woods.
John is survived by his parents Howard and Lisa Sprague of Hamilton: brothers, Clay Sprague of San Marcos; Lance Sprague of Bryan; grandparents Evelyn Sprague of Hamilton, and Sammy and Nita Davis of Bruceville. John was beloved by all family members.
