

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Hamilton, Texas with burial and graveside service following in the Blue Ridge Church Cemetery.
Nelda was born on a Wednesday, October 18th, 1939 in Voca, Texas to her parents Lille Regian Otte and James William Fritz (Fred) Otte.
She grew up in several small Texas towns and attended Muleshoe High School. Nelda married her high school sweetheart Ingle Gatewood on February 28th, 1958 in Muleshoe, Texas. Nelda and Ingle lived in Muleshoe, Abilene, Belton and after her retirement in 1996 resided in Hamilton. They raised three children.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lillie Womack and Fred Otte, two brothers A.J. Otte and Elroy Otte.
Nelda is survived by her husband, Ingle (Gate) of Hamilton, a daughter Jerri Tyler and husband Eddie of Belton, son Mark and wife Shanda of Salado and son Keith and wife Adriana of Hamilton. She also is survived by seven Grandchildren; Lindsey Tyler, Allen Gatewood, Allison Skinner, Amy Tyler, Sharla Gottesman, Robby Hogan and Kyle Gatewood, Two great granddaughters Kensignton Grace Skinner and Eloise Kathleen Gottesman. As one of eight siblings, she is survived by 5 brothers and sisters; Myrlene Glasco, O. D. Otte, William Henry Otte, Shirley Reinke, and Christine Otte.
Service is at Calvary Baptist Church in Hamilton on Tuesday January 26th with internment at Blue Ridge Church Cemetery. Service led by her Pastor; Andrew Sobities. Pall Bearers; Allen Gatewood, Kyle Gatewood, Eddie Tyler, Stephen Reinke, Jason Braziel, Ross Skinner and Brandon Gottesman.
While residing in Hamilton for 20 years, she was passionate about the Prison Ministry. To get people’s attention she would often say to someone she “just got out of prison” as a way to talk about the ministry.
