

Patsy Jane Mason Massingill, 75, of Hamilton passed away Friday, May 2 at a local hospital. Graveside services have been set for 2:00 P.M. Monday, May 5 at the Jonesboro Cemetery in Jonesboro, TX. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday May 4 at Riley Funeral Home.
Honorary pallbearers will be George Tubbs, Jr., Justin Tubbs, Ronnie Wendling, Ricky Brown, Clint Christianson, Brody Brown, Michael Gomez and Corie Gomez.
Patsy was born June 29, 1938 in Hamilton Co., TX to R.V. & Bertha Mae (Wagner) Mason. She attended school in Hamilton and later received her G.E.D. in her early twenties. She was fortunate to travel the U.S. States and worked various jobs; her favorite was being a devoted and loving housewife. Being very talented as a great cook, seamstress, she could knit & crochet. Doing craftwork and always being busy. She married James H. Bezner on November 6, 1974. She studied the Catholic faith and joined the Catholic Church which she loved dearly. In 1984, they got guardianship of Jessica Mitchell. Pat loved being a mom and helping out with school functions. James preceded her in death in November 1996. She married again in July 2005 to her best friend David Earl Massingill, Sr., he too preceded her in death in August 2010. Patsy had a contagious smile and heartfelt laugh that would attract any stranger and loved hearing a good joke. She loved good old country music - George Strait being a huge favorite. She will be dearly missed!
Patsy is survived by one daughter Jessica Mitchell. Four grandchildren: Aaron James, Gabriel Mason Fugate, Austin William and Hannah Dawn Keelig. Two step-children: Lisa Bailey & Steve Massingill and nine step-grandchildren. Two sisters: Barbara Ann Wendling of Cloquet, MN. & Wilma Dean Tubbs and companion Doug Mitchell of Hamilton. Nieces: Laverne Brown, Cindy McCullough, Linda Gomez andPatricia Tubbs. Nephews: Ronnie Wendling, George Tubbs, Jr., Justin Tubbs and numerous great nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother & father, two brothers in law; Ronald Wendling, Sr. and George Tubbs, Sr. One step-son: David Earl Massingill, Jr. and numerous aunts and uncles.
