He is survived by his wife Mary Lou, daughter & son-in-law Jackie & Wil Carreira; son & daughter-in-law Gene & Brandi Augustine, grandchildren Nicholas, Gene, AJ & Marin and his sister Gail Liming.
Born in Memphis, Tennessee to Alfred and Grace Augustine, Gene moved to California when he was 11.
Gene spent 51 years in paint manufacturing, beginning with Old Quaker Paint and was instrumental in the move of the factory from Carson to Victorville. He retired from Sherwin Williams as the Plant Engineer.
He was an avid lover of the outdoors, enjoying camping, hunting, fishing and backpacking. He enjoyed reading and working with his hands.
After a long and brave battle Gene lost his life to brain cancer.
Family was the most important to him and he will be greatly missed.
