Isabella Ann LaMotte (McClain) passed away unexpectedly on December 18, 2019 just short of her 84th birthday. Isabella was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to Alvin LaMotte, Sr. and Norma Fortier (LaMotte). Later her family relocated to Pontiac Michigan where Isabella graduated from Pontiac High School in 1953 and was a member of the Cheerleader Squad. After high school Isabella worked at the General Motors Assembly plant in Orion Township, Michigan in 1992 and retired after 20+ years of service. Later she and her husband Willie McClain, Sr. moved to Apple Valley, California to be closer to her children. She enjoyed her residency at the Jess Ranch 55+ community where she had many close friends and new acquaintances.
Isabella is survived by her youngest brother Norman LaMotte, Queen Creek, Arizona; her eldest son Willie Carroll, Jr., Las Vegas, NV; her daughter Jacqueline Andrews (Bell), Apple Valley, CA; and her youngest son Quintin Andrews, West Covina, CA.; eight grandchildren, Lisa Carr (Mellado); Crystal Carroll, Dameon Carroll, De Aura Carroll (Lemus), Gimel Andrews, Jordan Andrews, Jazmeen Bell and Maya Bell; five great-grandchildren and a host of cousins.
Preceding her in death were her parents Alvin LaMotte, Sr. and Norma Fortier (LaMotte); husband Willie McClain, Sr. (June 2019); her son Gregory Carroll (Sept 2017); brothers Alvin LaMotte, Jr., Neville LaMotte, Ronald LaMotte and John LaMotte and granddaughter Shira Carroll.
Isabella was baptized in the Church of St. Francis Xavier in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She attended services at a local congregation. She had many hobbies that included fishing, visiting the farmer’s market, taking road trips, celebrating birthdays and holidays and watching cooking shows on TV. Having family roots in New Orleans, Louisiana, her favorite dishes to make included seafood gumbo, jambalaya, dirty rice and praline candy just to name a few. Recently she took up making Kim Chi and Pho. She loved watching cooking videos and playing solitaire on her iPad.
