A message from his Mother, Shelly Akers:
John was a rambunctious child and always had me on my toes. If he wasn't climbing a six foot fence at 3 years old just to get some balloons that got stuck on a power line in the back yard he was climbing our brick fire place to see if he could touch the ceiling. He did handstands, summersaults and never had fear of anything. At 6 or so he would drop into the deepest pool at the Venice beach skate park and even if he fell he'd get back up and do it again. Harley Davidsons has been a part of his life from the day he was born till he got called home to be with our Lord. The high Desert Harley was a regular stop. I would take all the kids to it cause was our Disney Land. They all would request it frequently. It all started with a 95 heritage soft tail in the early 2000s and his siblings were hooked. When John got a hobby or a passion, he stuck to if faithfully. Like his love of Star Wars or Top Gun and the excitement of going to the blue angels airshow we did every year. One passion he had was speakers. Anything and everything to do with speakers.
His 2005 twelve passenger Chevy Express was the loudest van in the High Desert. I'm pretty sure! He also loved working on his van and was very talented mechanically. He put in two horns, one of which was the Dixie horn from General Lee in the Dukes of Hazzard, another passion he inherited from his mom. He was his mama's helper. If I ever needed help, he was the one who would help with no complaint. He lived life to the fullest and would make you laugh anytime you were around him. He was the sunshine in every room. We would Karaoke together and I loved hearing him sing with his amazing voice. He had so many talents, like his passion for playing the drums. He heard a song by Avenged Sevenfold and the Double Kick Bass in the Beast and the harlot got him hooked. I even gave a letter to the drummers mom from Avenged Sevenfold and told her how he got into drumming from her son, who is also no longer with us. John played Bongos, Piano and had the voice of an Angel.
There are so many things that he did, but his joy of life and goofy personality ( your welcome Son for giving you that ) he lived life through the eyes of a child. He loved it, he got it or did it and you never saw him unhappy. I know he's in the most amazing, beautiful place. I can just see him as he walked through that narrow pearl gate of heaven where my Dad or Christopher or anyone of his family members would greet him and as he walked in to see the streets of gold and the excitement on his face. I'm happy to know that he is up in heaven doing what he most singing and playing music for our Lord and Savior for all eternity.
