I just found out tonight that Mark passed away and am quite saddened. Mark came to BTA late in our High School experience but quickly became known for his comical ways and crazy sense of humor. We had ways of making everyone fit in and Mark did so with ease. It is tragic news when an old friend passes, fortunately, I am unseasoned in this department. Mark, it seems, lived a full life as he certainly never was in favor of a comfort zone. My sincerest condolences to his loving family from all of the BTA class of 1978. My he rest in peace and may his family know only solace.

I met Mark at Brooklyn College and recognized a fellow dissident. He had a great sense of humor and was kind to others. I thought about him over the years, and wished I had kept in touch.  My condolences to the Ehrman family.  Baruch Dayan Emet.

I just found out that Markwho was my friend and next door neighbor when I lived in Los Angeles in the late 1980'spassed away earlier this year after a two-year battle with a rare blood disease. Though I hadn't seen Mark since I returned for a short visit to LA in 1991, I had kept in touch with him sporadically over the years through telephone and email. He left the United States over ten years ago and relocated to Germany. I lost contact with him until I learned that he had written a book called, "Getting Out." It was a compilation of the stories of Americans who had expatriated from the United States in the past two decades. It is also a Beginner's Guide to expatriating.

It was thanks to Mark that I was able to find a profession for the next twenty years that allowed me to comfortably support myself until the day I retired.
Many people come into and out of our lives. During my friendship with Mark in the three years that we actually lived in the same city, he taught me certain insights that I still think about to this day. 

Thank you, Mark, for being a part of my life and changing my life for the better. Rest in Peace.

My sincere condolences to Mark's family. I am a good friend of Mark's in Los Angeles, where we met around 1990 and became good friends. We had many wonderful interesting times together and he will be greatly missed. He influenced and was loved by many here in Los Angeles.
