Dear Amy and David, It is with a heavy heart that I express to you my condolences for the loss of your sweet Michelle.Time passes but our pain does not.  I will always pictures her rosey cheek smile and giggles when I think of her. I know Hank saw Joel not too long ago. I'm glad they touch base once in awhile. Are you wintering here in Palm Beach? Grief never ends, but it changes. It's a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith. It's the price of love.  Sending my condolences to the entire family.

Steve just told me of Michelle's passing, having seen David at PT. Words fail us and we'll hold all of your family in our hearts and prayers. I knew Michelle as an enthusiastic golfer and enjoyed playing with her as members of the Glen Cove Golf . Always upbeat,friendly and positive. We will miss her and her competitive spirit. My condolences to her family.  Stella O’Shea.

I only knew Michelle for a brief period and she inspired me with her strength and positivity. I will miss you Michelle. I’m grateful to have met you.  I am praying for comfort and peace for your beautiful family and friends and especially your sweet boy, Franklin.

We just found out about Michelle yesterday - so saddened to hear and absorb the devastating news about her.  Our “soccer” families go way back, and the loss of a child is not what one ever expects. We send our love to your whole  extended family and especially to her husband and precious son.

In November 2023: Ladies’ Night: “A Night of BONDing” - the biggest “moms’ night out” of the year for the school district. We anticipated this night for weeks in advance. 

We shared our outfits - Michelle could not get over my sequin suit- she knew I loved a good theme. We joked about looking like the Spice Girls- Michelle deeming herself as “Sporty Spice.” Cate drove. We went back and forth for hours, days in advance, about who would drive, when we were leaving, etc. The excitement was electric because it was our first of many mom firsts. We took our “prom photo” “for memories” at Sophia’s. Pinned Cate’s dress and laughed at ourselves. We wondered what kind of night we’d have, shared stories the whole ride there, and then laughed even harder on the way home, as we shared funny stories with our hoarse voices from our collective experiences throughout the night. We somehow were originally separated for seating, but the four of us managed to sit together, and the night was filled with dancing, raffles, not-so-great food, and quite a few drinks. 

I think it’s important to share that Michelle was not feeling 100%, and at this point was struggling with news she had received a few weeks prior, but you would have never known. She had the best time - we had the best time.

For that night, we were kids again, and it felt like we had all known each other our whole lives and at the same time, felt like new mom friends trying to navigate this new life. To search for a familiar face among the crowd of moms and know you didn’t  just have one, but three,  is not just comforting - it’s a blessing. This night was a core memory that I will forever hold onto. Michelle smiling, laughing, dancing - making the most of it.  The “soccer moms” living their best lives for a small moment in time.

That night, we jokingly named our group text the “soccer moms” and then later, once the school year began, and our kiddos joined the chess club, we joked that we should change it to “Chess moms” or “Checkmates.”  Our text thread became an every day check-in, a constant exchange of photos of us and our kids, especially on holidays, a plethora of hangout offers, carpool considerations, and affirmations, Sunday soccer story shares and action shots. 

When we left her funeral today, the three of us recognized that somehow we ended up at the cemetery at the exact same time, parked right behind each other, walked in together, and walked out together. I’m no stranger to synchronicities, and I couldn’t help but feel that Michelle orchestrated our impeccable timing. On our way out, I brought up these photos, and our text group - which had been untouched - zero messages sent or received for days. We all vowed to never delete it.

No one really talks about how hard it can be to make new mom friends.  Yet, somehow, the universe conspired for us four women to find each other at a time when each of us really needed it- creating a small and sturdy village we knew would help raise our kids, and raise us up, too.  It will always be us four from the start, and we will continue to be Franklin and Josh’s village, just as Michelle would want.❤️

In April 2023: Kindergarten moms’ mixer 🫶🏻 Michelle wasn’t feeling great and had lost her voice prior to the event, but she came, we had the best time, and this night brought us four even closer- knowing we were going to be moving through all of the kindergarten and OBEN school “firsts” together. It made everything a lot less scarier to know we all had each other and that our kids had each other, too.❤️ The next morning, both the Kramer and Cohen fam took a walk to Vernon, and we couldn’t stop talking about “the night before.” The energy was electric, and Michelle told me and Josh that she was really happy she went. We knew it would be the first of many firsts.

There are no words for this terrible loss of daughter, wife , mother or sister. I hope you know the Hadassah  family is here for all of you! I be at shiva on Wednesday.

My sincerest condolences for your loss. I only met  Michelle once; last October, at the Hadassah Youth Aliyah event to honor her mother.  What a lovely, vibrant woman who clearly loved and cherished her family.  May her memory be a blessing.

Oh my God, I had no idea she was sick. I only found out today. My heart is broken such a beautiful rosey cheeked sweet girl. We were close when the kids were younger and I’m so sorry we’ve lost touch after moving to Florida. Life takes you in different directions. There  are no words. We are all in shock. Our deepest deepest sympathy’s . She was a light of a child  and I’m sure a young woman. We will always remember her. Marilyn Zuckerman and Family
