ANGELA MARIE (ALANIZ) WHITAKER
Angela Marie (nee Alaniz) Whitaker. HIGHLAND, IN – Angela Marie (Alaniz) Whitaker, age 48, passed away after fighting a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her loving daughters, Paige Marie and Lindsey Ann; mother, Patricia Alaniz; sisters, Tina Snider, Lisa Markovich, Toni (Rob) Dockery and Laura Knight; nieces and nephews, Jonathon, Nicholas, Ethan, Adam, Jeremy, Ellyn, Elise, and Joseph; and stepson, Timothy. Preceded in death by her father, Tony Alaniz. Angela was born September 1, 1970 in East Chicago, IN and was a 1988 graduate of Morton Senior High School in Hammond, IN. Until her illness, Angela worked for Industrial Combustion. Angela was an avid Blackhawks fan, with an infectious laugh and generous heart. She was most proud of the hard work and effort she put into creating a beautiful, warm home for her and her daughters. Among many things, she will also be remembered for her incredible creativity with sewing and cross-stitching, making beautiful things for the family and friends she held dear. Angela was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend and will truly be missed by all whose lives she touched. Per Angela’s wishes, we will not put her head in a cloud in a condolences card and we will instead, celebrate her life by hosting an event at a later date. Angela’s family would like to thank everyone for their generous support and donations. Any additional donations can be made in Angela’s honor to Hospice of the Calumet Area, who so graciously cared for her.
