Barbara J. Schmal (nee Campbell), age 76, of Dyer, IN passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2012. She is survived by three children: Terri (Jack) Williams of Cedar Lake, IN, Bradley Schmal of Dyer, IN and Douglas (fiancee Penny West) Schmal of Lowell, IN; grandson, Daniel Schmal of Lowell, IN; sister, Betty (Nelson) Crook of Lowell, IN; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Schmal was preceded in death by husband, Daniel Schmal; brother, Christopher Schmal; and mother, Ora Campbell. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 12, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN with Rev. Charles Niblick officiating. Interment will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family Thursday, October 11, 2012 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home. Mrs. Schmal retired from Central States Marketing with over 20 years of service. She was a member of the B.M.W.M.O.A. and the United Sidecar Association.
