Beatrice "Jean" Eugenia Skrobot

Beatrice Eugenia (Jean) Skrobot nee Gist age 78 of Highland passed away peacefully on Sunday January 8, 2012, she is survived by her children Katherine (Steve) Lessner, Brenda (Jim) Troutman, Pete (Twana) Skrobot, ten grandchildren Katrina, Matt, Ben, Claire, Nick, Greg, Tim, Dan, Samantha, Sydney, a great-grandson Joey; Two sisters Eileen Sallade and Mary Beauchamp, Two brothers Charles (Karen) Gist and Harold Gist. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter, her parents Grant & Helen Gist, her brothers Robert & Elwood, one sister Virginia. Beatrice, better known as Jean to many friends and family, was born Beatrice Eugenia (nee Gist) on July 30,1933 in Taylorville, Ill, she moved to northwest Indiana in 1953 and met her husband Walter while working at Rand McNally. They were married for 40 years when he passed away. Jean retired from Stack Van Til store in 1997 where she worked in the Highland store for over 25 years. She enjoyed retirement and stayed very active with her family, friends and church. She was a member of The Grace Reformed church in Lansing where she also attended bible study classes and helped with the coffee break group. She was a very much loved by any who had the pleasure of knowing her will be dearly missed by all. Friends and family are invited to celebrate her life at Kuiper Funeral Home 9039 Kleinman Rd, Highland, IN where visitation will be held on Friday January 13 from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 pm with a funeral service on Saturday January 14 at 10:00 AM.
