Carrie Alice Thomas Jones

Carrie Alice Jones, age 79 of Crown Point, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010. She is survived by her husband of 62 1/2 years, Lester; two sons: Danny (Shelley) Jones of Schererville and Roger (Andrea) Jones of Lowell; one daughter, Sherry (Dennis) Tokash of Hammond; 13 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. Mrs. Jones is also survived by four brothers: James (Lucille) Thomas of Hammond, Raymond (Ida) Thomas of Virginia, Douglas (Peggy) Thomas and Paul (Sue) Thomas both of Tennessee; and four sisters: Nona (Leroy) Beasley of Louisiana, Charlotte (Larry) Olson of Florida, Linda Carr and Brenda (Jim) Riddle both of Tennessee. She was preceded in death by two sons: Robert and Thomas; and grandson, Michael. Funeral services for Carrie will be held Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Lake Hills Baptist Church in Schererville with Pastor Philip Humber officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens also in Schererville. Friends may call on the family on Friday, July 30, 2010 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road), Highland. Mrs. Jones was a member of Lake Hills Baptist Church, a former member of the Gideons Ladies-Hammond Camp, and a former member of the Hessville Church of the Nazarene. She was the co-owner of Jones Fence Company and was an avid quilter. Memorials may be given to the Gideons.
