Daniel Keith Warnock, Sr.

Danny is survived by his children, Melissa, Daniel (Funmi), and Brandy (Tom) Zmuda; his eight grandchildren, Alexia, Alyssa, Lucy, Elliott, Lucas, David, Daniel, and Essie. He is also survived by his siblings, Denise von Ogden, Darlene (Peter) Welling, Dianne O'Connor, Donna (Dan) Perrott, Darria, and Darren; as well as countless nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Keith and Lucille; former spouse, Georgette Hussey-Warnock; siblings, Debbi, David, and Dorothy Jones; and in-laws, Dr. Tim O'Connor, Ken von Ogden, and Adrian “Corky” Jones.

Born August 14, 1960, Danny lived his entire life in Northwest Indiana and the Chicagoland area. He had a lifelong passion for all things automotive, from working on cars to watching auto racing on television and at local tracks. If asked what he did for a living, he would proudly say he was a driver—having spent much of his career in delivery, a job well-suited to his friendly and outgoing nature.

With a neighborly heart and an easy smile, Danny never hesitated to lend a hand. Whether helping a motorist stranded on the roadside or assisting a neighbor with a household issue, he was often the first to arrive and the last to leave. He treated strangers like friends and friends like family. Helping others brought him both joy and pride.

Later in life, he found new joy and pride in spending time with his grandchildren—especially taking them to the park or out for fries and blue slushies from the Golden Arches. Danny’s generosity, sense of humor, and willingness to help left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. His absence will be deeply felt, but his memory will continue to inspire kindness and compassion in all of us.

A visitation for Danny will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road, Highland, IN 46322. An additional visitation will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at Kuiper Funeral Home.
