David Martinez

David Martinez, 64, was born on July 4, 1961, in East Chicago, IN, to the late Arturo Martinez and Evangelina Navarro.

David was preceded in death by both his father and mother, Arturo and Evangelina; his brother, Arthur Martinez; his aunt and uncle on his mother’s side; and his mother-in-law, Maria Grados-Danessi. He is survived by his life partner of 26 years, Cristina Maria Grados; four siblings, Anna Marie Martinez, Laura (Oscar) Martinez-Anguiano, Sylvia (Victor) Calleros, and Eric (Julie) Navarro; aunt, Estella Navarro; and several members of Cristina’s family. He also leaves behind several cousins, nephews, and nieces, grand-nephews, and grand-nieces.

David was retired and previously worked as a vac truck driver for Tierra Environmental in East Chicago, IN.

David enjoyed seeing others laugh, especially with his family. He will be remembered for his love of Elvis and his impersonation of him. He was an avid fan of the Bears and he enjoyed kickboxing in his youth. He was looking forward to the annual barbecuing of his delicious ribs this summer, especially on his 4th of July birthday. We will carry his memory in the stories we share and the love we hold in our hearts.

Please join us on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, for a visitation at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road, Highland, IN 46322, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at the same location at 12:00 pm, with burial to follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery.
