Dorothy A Decker

Dorothy A Decker, age 93, of St. John, Indiana passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021. Dorothy was born February 14, 1928 in East Chicago. Dorothy Ann Decker will be remembered with love long after her passing. She was a kind, nurturing spirit, and everyone’s mother.

The simplest pleasures in life, such as having a good conversation with you across the kitchen table, the Cubs winning a ball game and meeting a new grandchild filled her heart with joy. She always opened her home to friends and family, filled your belly and gave you a sense of home.

Dorothy joined her beloved husband Leroy Decker and her sons Roy Allan Decker and Jack Decker. She is survived by her daughter Wanda Bishop, of Knoxville, TN, daughter-in-law Leisa Decker of Dyer, IN and her sons David Decker and Doug Decker both of St. John, IN, also her 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Friends may visit with the family on Friday September 3, 2021 from 3:00 PM till 5:00 PM at Kuiper Funeral Home 9039 Kleinman Rd (two blocks south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN. The Decker family is having a graveside memorial service on Saturday September 4th, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Chapel Lawn Cemetery 8178 Cline Ave Crown Point, IN.
