Edward F. Michalak

Edward F. Michalak, age 88 of Highland, IN passed away Saturday, May 1, 2010. He is survived by his two sons: David (Brenda) Michalak of Schererville and Mark (Elaine) Michalak of Highland; two grandchildren: Bradley (Josie) Michalak of Chesterton and Joshua Michalak of Schererville; great grandson, Darren Johnson of Chesterton; two sisters-in-law: Virginia Michalak of Highland and Victoria Quant of Lowell; one brother-in-law, Eugene Kozlowski of Highland and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Michalak was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, May 5, 2010 DIRECTLY at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 3025 Highway Ave., Highland with Rev. Edward Moszur officiating. Cremation will follow service. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Rd. (two blocks south of Ridge Rd.), Highland. A prayer service will be held Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Michalak was a member of Our Lady of Grace Church, Highland. He retired from LTV Steel with over 30 years of service and was a Veteran of U.S. Army during WWII. Mr. Michalak was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 369 of East Chicago, who will hold services at 6:30 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
