Elizabeth C. "Betty" Savage Durling

Betty Durling (nee Savage), age 89 of Highland, passed away April 9, 2011. She is survived by her husband of 67 years: Bob; two daughters: Cheryl(Howard) Chiluski of Georgia and Linda(Dave) Branson of Highland; grandchildren: Melanie(Andy) Sojka of Crown Point; Melissa(Jim) Burlison of Crown Point, Bennett Chiluski of Georgia and Austin Chiluski of Georgia; seven great grandchildren and numerous special nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Rd.(2 blocks south of Ridge Rd.), Highland, Indiana, with Rev. Bruce Haapalainen, officiating. Interment at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, Indiana. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 from 2-8 PM at Kuiper Funeral Home. Betty was formerly with Inland Steel, a secretary with the Lake Ridge School System, and a tutor with the School Town of Highland. She was a long time member of the Board of Directors for the Community Concert. Betty was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church of Highland, Hammond Presbyterian Church, and Unity Church.She was also a "licensed hug giver."
