Geraldine Marie Fortino (Prinz) born in Chicago, IL to her loving parents Ed and Marie Prinz on December 9, 1947, and to her older brother Gordon Scott Prinz. She had three younger sisters, Marlene (deceased) (husband Paul Stenquist) Debra (husband Graham Brack), and Betty Jane Prinz Page, along with her incredible brother, Ed Prinz Jr. (Shari Barfield).
Her loving nieces and nephews included Andrea Marie Mirabelli, Riley Page, Erik Nils Stenquist, Kristin Marie Stenquist Dennis (Ian Dennis), Heidi Hermine Stenquist, and Ingrid Karianna Stenquist, Elliot Travis Brack (Whitney Brack), and Austin Charles Brack (Ashley Eaton).
Gerry also had many loving grand nieces and grand nephews. (more to love)
Gerry married her High School sweetheart who graduated Mendal High School, Jack Fortino. Gerry graduated in 1966 from St. Francis De Sales High School. Jack Fortino was the love of her life.
After graduation, Gerry was talented at her vast work experiences as Administrative Assistants. She decided to go back to school to become a Professional Critical Care Nurse at the University of Chicago Hospital in 1978.
Gerry resided in Tinley Park, Illinois. She was stricken with alzheimers disease and later on resided in Cedar Creek Health Campus of Lowell, Indiana where she made many friends .
Gerry lost her battle with COVID-19 at Methodist Hospital Southlake at 12:45 pm Friday, February 12, 2021, surrounded by an awesome caring nursing staff (her peers).
We are Heartbroken.
Gerrys sense of humor was unmatched. She had impeccable taste and was good at everything she tried. She enjoyed traveling. Loved Chicago sports. Loved her pet cat Charlie and loved all of her family and friends with passion. She will live in our hearts forever.
Gerry will be buried at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery back home with Dad in Alsip, IL at a later safer time this year.
