Irene Helen Jakubowski Wagenblast

Irene Helen Wagenblast (nee Jakubowski), age 81, of Highland, IN passed away at home Wednesday, December 24, 2014. She is survived by her three daughters: Kathleen (Ben) Czarnecki of Wheeling, IL, Diane (late Sam) Muskin of Crown Point, IN and Linda (Jim) Onohan of Merrillville, IN; ten grandchildren: Adam and Brian Czarnecki of Wheeling, IL, Zachary, Matthew and Christopher Muskin of Crown Point, IN, Sarah (Anthony Luipold) Onohan of Merrillville, IN, Stephen Onohan of Louisville, KY, Aaron (Ben Scott) Onohan of Valparaiso, IN, James Onohan of Schererville, IN and Julie (William II) Zaragoza of DeMotte, IN; six great grandchildren: Damien, Lily, Andriana, Mia, William III and Kamyelle; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Wagenblast was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald; and infant daughter, Patricia Lynn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, December 29, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. DIRECTLY at St. James the Less Catholic Church, 9640 Kennedy Ave., Highland, IN with Rev. Keith Virus officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family Sunday, December 28, 2014 from 3:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. ( wake service 3:00 p.m.) at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN. Mrs. Wagenblast was a longtime member of St. James the Less Catholic Church of Highland. She was an executive secretary at various companies in Chicago and the Calumet Region. Irene enjoyed fishing vacations with her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Irene's loving memory to the Hospice of the Calumet Area, St Vincent dePaul Society of St James Church
