Jeffrey is survived by his loving wife, Jean Stevens; his son Peyton (Dianne) Janney Sr. of Illinois; and his daughter Mary Ann Musgrave of Hammond, Indiana; his brother Michael (Marlene) Stevens of Hammond, Indiana, his sister Susan (Kenneth) Sykes of Virginia and his sister-in-law Janet Swanson of Highland, Indiana; his grandson Peyton Janney, his grandson Quintin Janney, his grandson Ryan (Nia) Musgrave, his granddaughter Cortney (Ronald) Neely, his granddaughter Amanda (Christopher) Ocasio, his granddaughter Elizabeth Nelson, his granddaughter Vivian Nelson, his great grandson Daniel Musgrave, his great granddaughter Penelope Ocasio, his great granddaughter Emery Ocasio, his nephew Mark Fichter, his niece Shannon Fichter, his great nephew Zachary Duddleston and his great niece Kacey Duddleston. Jeffrey is also survived by several cousins and many devoted friends.
Jeffrey was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Patricia Stevens; his aunt Phyllis Seaman, and uncle Paul and aunt Mary Ann Budreau; his granddaughter Amber Musgrave.
Jeffrey proudly served the Army for four years in the United States as well as in Europe. He had received many accommodations for his service. Jeffrey was honorably discharged in 1983. After leaving the military, Jeffrey loved spending time in his workshop creating things from wood for his family and friends. He loved people and was a friend to everyone he met. Jeffrey made it a habit to make everyone feel good about themselves and tell jokes. He loved his pets along with all other animals. His time was spent fishing, grilling and traveling to places like Klinger Lake, MI, Las Vegas and cruises.
Jeffrey touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed by all.
A memorial visitation for Jeffrey will be held Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Rd., Highland, IN 46322, followed by a memorial service beginning at 4:00 PM which will be officiated by Rev. Erika D. Brooks. Military Honors will be rendered at the funeral home.
