Jewel A Norris

CROWN POINT, IN - Jewel A. Norris, age 81 of Cedar Lake, IN, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at the Hospice of the Calumet Area in Munster, IN. She was born on September 9, 1937 to the late Mr. and Mrs. John Brucks in, Chicago, IL. She is greeted through heavens gates by her loving parents; brother, Robert Brucks; and sister Ellen Sartori. She is survived by her doting husband of 59 years, Thomas P. Norris; dearest family friends, Sheila Kessel and her children, Richard Kessel, Bruce Kessel and Carl Kessel the III; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and Sandy the greatest yellow lab that walked this earth. Jewel was a woman of many talents. She liked to spend time crafting with sewing projects. She volunteered her time at St. Anthony’s Medical Center. Traveling is what she and Tom did for many years and you could always get her to go out to dinner with friends and family. If you tried to telephone her and couldn’t get a hold of her on sunny days, that meant she was tending to her peonies and black eyed susan’s in the garden. She had a lot of love the share and her family was well aware of that. Jewel will be missed by so many people in the community. Family and friends will be received from 9AM-10AM on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at St. Matthias Church – 101 W. Burrell Dr. Crown Point, IN 46307. A Mass of Christian Burial in Mrs. Norris’s honor will be held at 10AM Wednesday, August 14, 2019. Fr. James Wozniak will be officiating.
