John Eric Cunningham, age 36, from Merrillville, IN received his Angel Wings on Sunday, August 22, 2021. Eric is survived by his loving mother, Rebecca Kerwin; his sister, Angela Cunningham, who loved him deeply; two nieces, Savannah and Allyssa Jovas; two great-nephews, Landen and Linken. He is preceded in death by his stepfather, Keith Kerwin; and father, John R. Cunningham.
Eric was a lifetime resident of the region, graduating from Morton Senior High School, where he played football. After graduation, Eric became a Welder by trade. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, working on cars, and spending time with his family and friends.
Eric was a wonderful man who was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He had many friends and family who will deeply miss him.
